So Many Sneezings!

And also, I have the plague. But I have sworn off tea so that I will have bright and shiny white teeth for the wedding.

Hot water and lemon it is!

Ohh Ughhh.

So, today a bird died backstage while we were in the middle of tech. It was also flying around chirping all morning, but we couldn't find it. And the only crew person on that side of stage, bless her, didn't make a sound until we were on break and she could talk to me in person about not wanting to touch it. I had to throw the little bird (I think it was a sparrow) away in a tampon bag, because that was all there was in the bathroom and I didn't have time to bury it properly. Somewhere Buddha is shaking his head.

Tom Cruise

So I went to sign in to Livejournal and saw this ad for "Tom Cruise, 25 Years" on the side panel.

I clicked on it and it took me to his Official Website.

I watched about 30 seconds and had to turn it off cause I was laughing so hard.

He's so crazy!

Short Answer is, the Dog's ok.

Stacy is doing ok. She was WAAAAY loopy last night, falling off of the couch and running into things, and she wouldn't eat or drink anything cause with half her front teeth missing (she only has 4!) it's really difficult for her. Her tongue was half hanging out a bunch yesterday like those dogs in the ugly dog contest. Except cute-like.

Anyway when I got home from work last night we had to hold her down and give her her medecine in the form of 1 little blue pill covered in Nan bread (which she cheeked and we had to try again... damn chihuahuas) and an oral syringe full of apparently yummy white goop. She liked the white goop so much we tricked her into drinking some water by squirting it into her mouth with the syringe.

She was snoring so badly all night because her face is tiny the swelling is all up in her nasal passages :( Cj and I both had to wear earplugs.

Today she went outside and went to the bathroom, played with us a little bit, ate some softened food, then went right back to bed. It'll take a few days before she's 100% again, and even then she'll only be 98% cause she's missing two teeth! And we're out $800.

At least they cleaned her teeth, gave her a microchip, and cleaned out her ears. The vet said they were all yeasty and that it was probably some sort of food allergy.

We have to give her .4 ccs of pain meds every 24 hours, a 1/4 dropperful of ear medication every day for 7 days, antibiotic pills once every 12 hours, and then she has yet ANOTHER set of pain meds that we can give her every 6 hours if it seems like she's in a lot of pain.

Yikes.

The Boy Who Wished to Gain His Heart's Desire

Clearly inspired by Lotte Reiniger, who you can read more about here. She made the first ever feature length animation (hotly disputed by Disney), called "The Adventures of Prince Achmed."

Puppy Update

So the vet decided to wait and do the surgery tomorrow instead of today.

She has to have surgery to remove a front tooth (and possibly more) - it was swollen last weekend and the people at the vet hospital I called said if it went down by the next day not to worry about it. It did go down, and then a couple days ago I was brushing her teeth (yes, I brush my dog's teeth, don't judge me) and noticed the front one was loose.

The vet thinks it's from some sort of blunt trauma. I think she ran into the fence outside trying to get through a hole that was too small for her, maybe cause she was chasing a bird. XD Anyway, they're also micro-chipping her and doing a tooth cleaning at the same time.

So today they did a regular checkup (her eyes are fine, her ears are itchy probably due to some sort of food allergy, she weighs 14 pounds which is way too much). They also stuck a thermometer up her butt, clipped her nails, and drew blood for tests. Now the last time I took her to the vet she almost bit the person when they were trying to take her temperature, and they had to put a tiny muzzle on her even though I was holding her. This time she wasn't happy, but she didn't thrash or whine. And when they took her into the back to take her blood and clip her nails they said she didn't even growl (although I could hear her whining through the door when they took her blood). I was so proud. She also let all the nurses pet her and pick her up. I guess we're doing something right.

She goes in for the surgery tomorrow morning at 8:30, I'll let you all know how it goes.

Puppy going in for surgery today, think good thoughts.

Ooh, much depressing.

The past couple of days I've been watching really intense, depressing movies right before I have to go to work.

Yesterday it was Manic with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel.

Today it was Sid and Nancy.

Dunno why I do this to myself.

*Insert Working Dwarf Song from Snow White Here*

So today I was working an event at the bookstore and the mic kept shorting out, and when I looked for the problem there was a homeless guy standing on the cord and reading the newspapers (they're right next to the connection point). I politely told him that he was causing the mic to short out and asked him if he could move. He said, "Yeah, I figured that was it." and went back to his newspaper. I asked him again to move and he just looked at me angrily and went back to his newspaper again.

What could I do? I said nothing because I didn't want to interrupt the speaker, who was a trained vocalist, and had already moved on from using the mic. I explained what happened after the event was over and the speaker said, "So that's what was going on over there." He was really nice about the whole thing though.

The homeless dude didn't buy the newspapers, by the way. I know, big surprise.

My fortune cookie today said, "You will soon change your line of work."

Oh my.

My favorite two year old just put her hand on my stomach and asked, "Does you have a baby in your tummy?"

... I don't.

On the upside, she can say what the first rule of fight club is.
Headdesk

I keep telling myself that things will get better soon and the world will stop being so stupid, but then I see something like this...

Go google the trailer. Do it. I'll wait.

.... see? Wasn't that awful?
