Quasi MFA post, Pics
Cj took this picture of the heavily grafitti'd subfloor at CalArts. Man do I want to go there.
So, I'm fairly sure at this point that I didn't get into Brown. I haven't heard either way yet, but their second interviews/panel directing sessions take place this weekend and I doubt they would have waited this long to let me know.
It's okay, but it does make me nervous about the remaining two west coast schools. UCSD interview on Wednesday. I'm flying down and back in the same day - I feel so jet set.
Helped out with a bookstore event tonight that I thought was going to be low key, but was in fact THE EXACT OPPOSITE with crazy people, ticket sales, all sorts of borrowed chairs and a packed house. My feet are killing me, but at least I'm good at what I do.
Would like to get into an MFA program though so I can do shows instead.
Anyway.

If there's one thing I love...
... it's shoes. But there's a second thing I love, and that is hats.
Yes, I am a fashion whore. Always have been, can't help it.
Besides finding plenty of hats by typing in "cocktail hat" in the search form on Etsy, I also found this great website called Hatagories with a whole huge selection of awesome hats.
I'm secretly hoping people will wear big fancy hats to my wedding.

Sicko Fodder
I called my insurance company today to see what the procedure was for sending in my Birth Control receipts (this is what the pharmacy said I needed to do). I talked to this woman who kept going "Ummmmm... Uh...." before she said anything, and when she did, it was "Oh, we don't cover BIRTH CONTROL prescriptions. Only MEDICALLY NECESSARY ones."
"Oh. Well, since I have you on the phone, I wanted to make sure that I'm covered for my gynecologist appointment." (It said in the brochure that gynecological care was covered)
"Ummm... Wellll... what state are you in? Oh, it looks like we only cover the Pap Test in California."
"Let me get this straight. You cover the Pap Test, but not the actual visit to the gynecologist?"
"Uhhh yeah. That's right."
"Oh."
They are such bastards. What, am I going to do a pap smear myself and then take it in to the lab? God. This is why girls get cervical cancer.
