Falling In Love with Benny Green
Benny Green, your music makes my fingers curl.
Benny Green, I want to be your quiet girl.
I love how your foot's heavy on the pedal
and how your eyes sqeeze shut and your hands fly
Benny Green, your music makes my fingers curl.
Benny Green, I want to be your quiet girl.
and though I'm no sophisticated lady,
in my opinion you're one crazy guy
Benny Green, your music makes my fingers curl.
Benny Green, I want to be your quiet girl.
let me explain (you may be unaware)
I'm writing because when I don't, I stare.
Benny Green, your music makes my fingers curl.
Benny Green, I want to be your quiet girl.
I promised I'd post this, so here it is. Here, also, is what I said last night:
I went to see a night of solo jazz piano with Benny Green (so cute) and Jessica Williams, and I was scribbling on the little white pieces of paper that people were using to reserve their seats... it was lovely, absolutely lovely. I'll post the Benny Green poem tomorrow.
