Jessica's Piano

Jessica's piano is a jaguar.
She trusts her fingers nightly to it's teeth.
Jessica's piano is a sparrow,
a flock of sparrows leaping on a wire.
Jessica's piano is an alley cat
and her neighbors throw shoes, on some occaisions.
Jessica's piano is a steamship
embarking from a black and silver shore.



I went to see a night of solo jazz piano with Benny Green (so cute) and Jessica Williams, and I was scribbling on the little white pieces of paper that people were using to reserve their seats... it was lovely, absolutely lovely. I'll post the Benny Green poem tomorrow.
