Before I disappear again for the next few days...

It seems like there's just so much more time in a day when I'm not doing a show - or, for that matter, preparing for the next one.

What's fantastic about it, even though I was extremely sad to leave everyone on Saturday night (after, I may add, the best show we have yet to put on), is that everything seems easy. Graduation? Not a big deal. Moving? But a drop in the bucket. Everything seems like it's going to be okay.

Yesterday Cj and I took care of all the little wrapping up businesses we needed to on campus: Depositing ticket money, turning in reciepts, having lunch with friends, turning in our keys, checking student mailboxes, etc. Then we went home and slept... and slept... and slept. I went through some of our books and filled up another bag to get rid of, then watched the Fellowship of the Ring again, finished the Director's binder for my lovely successors, and finally went to sleep one more time. Today I met with them and tried my best to make sure that they felt like they could take over, warned them about just about everything I could possibly think of, and parted ways feeling really secure about the future of the group. Now I'm just waiting for Cj and Ryan to finish their attempt to beat all the songs on the 7th mix of DDR (alphabetically), swing by Kinko's to mail back the scripts, then go home and continue packing. That's all I'm going to do for the next few days - pack, and hope that everything gets taken care of by Saturday when we have to leave.

I thought of posting a lot of songs on here to try and express all my conflicting feelings about leaving this place, but the one that seems to most appropriate to me is one by Cake that I've been listening to a lot in the past few weeks.

End of the Movie - lyrics

People you love
Will turn their backs on you
You'll lose your hair
Your teeth
Your knife will fall out of its sheath
But you still don't like to leave before the end of the movie.

People you hate will get their hooks into you
They'll pull you down
You'll frown
They'll tar you and drag you through town
But you still don't like to leave before the end of the movie
No you still don't like to leave before the end of the show.

(instrumental)

People you hate will get their hooks into you
They'll pull you down
You'll frown
They'll tar you and drag you through town
But you still don't like to leave before the end of the movie
No you still don't like to leave before the end of the show.
