Why Japanese Saved My Life

So I was making instant ramen that I bought in Little Tokyo, and the directions are all in Japanese, but I can use my one year of that language in order to get "500 ML of water" and "3 minutes." The little pictures on the packet are very instructive as well. Then, when I go to get the flavoring packet out of the bag, there are two - a big one, and a little one.

Now, I'm not sure if the little one is something that should be put in or if it's silica gell (poison) to keep the food fresh.

DILEMMA!

So Cj and I look really closely at the packet and notice that it says, in katakana, "Su-pa-i-su."

Supaisu... Spice!

Ergo, safe to put in the ramen.

Go Japanese!
