Funnys

Well, first there's an extremely funny take on the ridiculousness of our recent election.

Then there's my work policies... when people at my work had a problem and needed to take a day off, the administrators really really got tired of hearing all the excuses and very personal explanations for why everyone needed the break, so they implemented the system of "personal days." Thus, when I found out today that not only do I have a paper due monday on a section of Elaine Scarry's "The Body in Pain" (which I haven't read yet), but I also have no way of getting to work (as Cj has to go petition for his new acceptance in my honors college and then go straight to his work, and KC is nowhere to be found, and the bus schedule doesn't coincide with my work schedule, and I didn't really want to go into work tonight anyway), I just called in and said "This is Gina at (insert phone #) and I need to take a personal day for my 5:30 shift on Thursday the 9th. Thank you!" Bada bing, bada boom, they don't have to hear any explanations, which as you can see would have taken a great deal of time to explain, and I get to take a day off work with no make-up shift. Whee!
