The Saga of Bugly

Cj's mom was thinking about getting another dog to keep Madeline company while they're away during the day, so I had been looking on Petfinder to see if there were any suitable dogs in their area. During my search, I came across this:

BUGLY

"Bugly's name is a combination of butt ugly because that's what she is. She is so ugly until she is cute. I have her listed as a chihuahua but she looks like a combination of about 3 or 4 dogs. And her head doesn't match her body. She has short legs on a body that is sort of like a stocky rat terrier. Her head is rounded like an applehead chihuahua, only bigger, but her face is thicker than a chihuahua. We will have her picture up soon. This is a little dog that you just can't help but love. She is friendly and affectionate and playful. She is approximately 8 months old and weight 7 pounds. She should top off at about 10 pounds as an adult. Bugly also has demodex mange which is heriditary and non contagious. If we can get this under control she will be available for adoption around the first of October. Her adoption fee is $100."

"This is it!" I thought. "This is the dog I've been wanting my whole life!" Those of you that know me know that I'm a big fan of things that are so ugly they become desirable. Like pug dogs. Or shag carpet. Or Angus Young.

However, I didn't think Cj's mom would go along with it at all. Then I get an email from her saying, "Where did you find Bugly?! We all love her and want her, but you didn't include an address or phone number!" JOY! They wanted Bugly! So of course I go back to Petfinder and look her up.

Sadly, it turns out that Bugly is not anywhere close to us - she comes from a Chihuahua rescue in Louisiana.

NOOOOOO! I'm in love with this dog, and I can't have her! Ahhh, cruel fate....
